NORTH CROWLEY SOCCER BECAME AREA CHAMPS.
North Crowley was eliminated in the third round of playoffs after facing off Arington Martin High School. The loss came as an unfortunate series of events revolving around the referees assigned to the game. North Crowley was plagued by a referee that thought he was allowed to interpret the rules of the game and read into the minds of the players to determine their intentions.
Bad calls are bad call, and they can be excused for "unseen" plays, but this was not the case.
The center ref told players that the hand ball that scored the first goal was "unintentional" therefore the goal was allowed, and the charging of the keeper was not called because, even after the three seconds that elapsed with the ball in the keeper's hand, the other player "tried to stop" and card was not issued.
The worst thing is that even reporters acknowledged the wrong calls.
